Tom Bosworth

As Great Britain’s top race walker, Tom Bosworth had an outstanding 2019. The current world record holder for the mile began by taking fourth place and team silver in the 20km race at the European Race Walking Cup in Lithuania. He then followed up with first place in the Pan American Cup 20km race walk trials in California and closed his season by becoming the first ever UK race walker to finish in the top eight at a World Championships. The 29-year old, who trains full-time at Leeds Beckett University’s UK Race Walking centre, has spoken out bravely about his battle with mental health issues and is now targeting a first global medal at next year’s Tokyo Olympics.
