James Simpson

As captain of the Leeds Rhinos wheelchair rugby league side, James has overseen his team’s transformation into a serious force in this exciting young sport. After winning their first ever Grand Final last season, in 2019 Simpson led his side to their first Challenge Cup victory with a stunning 74-46 win over Kent side The Argonauts in Sheffield. Simpson was also an integral part of the England side that returned from Australia in October with a 2-0 Ashes series win against the Wheelaroos. The former soldier is also an ambassador for the Rugby League World Cup 2021 tournament where he will be hoping to represent his country in the wheelchair event once again.
