Jack Laugher MBE

It’s a measure of just how high Jack Laugher sets his standards that he would probably describe himself as disappointed with a season that saw him pick up no fewer than nine medals on the world stage. In the 2019 World Series he won three gold, one silver and three bronze, including topping the podium at the London event with a total score that was the best in the world this year. But it was at the World Championships in South Korea that the Harrogate-born diver suffered disappointment, after a poor final dive pushed him from first to third. However, an unexpected silver with new partner Dan Goodfellow in the 3m synchro was a big boost ahead of Tokyo 2020.
